Sea battles are great!

Today was my second day playing Discovery Online, what good day it was. Although I didn't get to play very long, I was able to get alot accomplished.

I continued to complete quests until I was too lvl 8, then I decided to start battling. I was a little worried at first but I quickly realized it was no big deal. I was in the English Channel fighting English Pirates and English something else's. They were simple!

I could fight for an hour without having to repair my ship if I needed too.

I managed to get to lvl 9 before I called it an evening. I'm glad the weather is poor here because that means I have time to play!

First day playing...... Great Game!

Just finished playing for the first day and it's time to go to bed. The game is really awsome, decent graphics, runs good, good people, great overall setup so far.

The first day I was able to get up to lvl 7 without any really problems. There are some things in the game that make moving around and finding things very easy. Like if you want to find a certain person in a city you just need to know their name. Choose it out of a list and "track" them and your character runs right to them. No more searching around for that one person!

Moving between towns is done on a ship. I didn't get into and sea battles today but I definately intend to. I was told that it is best to wait until about lvl 10 for some reason.

In order to get my lvl's, I spent my time completing quests. They were all simple and just involved things like, finding a person in a town (one you couldn't "track" too), buying items for people, shipping goods on your ship to certain cities for certain people, and relaying messages to people in different cities. Those were the types of quests I was doing today. There are alot of quests where you have to kill certain pirates and things like that but I haven't attempted them yet.

I have been writing down every quest and how to do them and their rewards. I am thinking of starting a guide with alot of "how to" stuff on it, or maybe Youtube videos! Yeah, that's it!

Anyways, I really enjoyed my first day and I even joined a consortium* (a guild).

I've decided to start playing Discover Online.

I found a new free MMORPG to try out. It's called Discovery Online and from what I can tell it's an RPg that takes place in the old times with pirate ships and stuff like that, should be interesting. The fact that you are sailing in the game is what made me want to play, since I am a sailor myself.

Anyways, I had to download the game file which was pretty large, 1.56 GB. I let my computer do that last night while I was sleeping. So this morning I wake up rady to play and then I see that I have to download some sort of "launcher" file that was incorrect or something. So I do that (although it takes me a minute to figure it out because you have to move the files to different folders and stuff) then I go to play and it looks like I am having to download every patch that has been released for the game. It's not that bad because the game itself is doing it all, I just have to sit back and wait, so I decided to create a blog about the game!

So hopefully I will be able to play soon!!!
